ORCD’s Orphan Sponsorship programme places children with carefully selected, supported Afghan families. Your monthly sponsorship provides what that family needs to care for them properly.
Consistent, adequate food for the child and their caring family.
School enrolment, uniform, books, and stationery.
Medical consultations and medicines when needed.
A small stipend for the caring family. So looking after this child does not push their own family into hardship.
ORCD's field teams visit each sponsored child's household every quarter. Face to face.
A progress report on how the child is doing at school and how the family is managing.
Monthly sponsorship is the most powerful way to support a child. It provides predictable, sustained support allowing ORCD’s teams to plan ahead and deliver consistent care. Each sponsorship is recorded and reported on annually.
Core sponsorship: food and essential clothing
Full sponsorship: food, education, healthcare, and family support.
Enhanced sponsorship: full sponsorship plus vocational or secondary education support
Two children: core sponsorship for two children
Two children: full sponsorship for two children
Annual gift: As a single donation: one full year of sponsorship
All sponsorship options are Sadaqah. Where the child is in genuine need with no income and no parental support, sponsorship may also be Zakat-eligible. ORCD UK will confirm eligibility on request.
